Faces of Ooty

The story behind

Snugged in the Nilgiris, Ooty might be one of the popular hill stations in south India. Standing at over 2200 meters, Ooty is popular for natural beauty like lush green hills, sprawling grasslands, flourishing tea gardens etc.

However, the beauty of Ooty does not just lie in nature. The people here play a very big role in creating a friendly and calm atmosphere around the people who visit there.

In the past few months, I got a chance to visit many remote villages in Ooty and interact with the locals. They were very friendly and their hospitality which I experienced was like never before.

Most people will invite you to their houses and offer you a cup of tea or coffee.  Well, since coffee is one of my weak points, I would gladly accept the cup of coffee while listening to their stories. After all, a good hot cup of coffee is best enjoyed in that cold Ooty climate when you know that chill wind is brushing your hands and face.

Coming back to the point (Sorry coffee made me digress from the point 😉), during these visits to the villages, I was able to capture some of these beautiful people. Hope, you’ll like these portraits and if you do, please share the happiness with your friends and family.
