Welcome to my first Photoblog
Hey you!
I am Anirudh and first of all, let me welcome you to my very first photoblog. I am from Kozhikode and I have been planning on creating a photoblog for some time.
One fine morning, while having a cup of coffee and thinking about the photoblog plans, something happened! An idea struck me (or maybe it was the caffeine kicking into my brains).
Why not start my blog by taking and sharing photos of something in my hometown? And it didn’t take much time for me to decide the place. Kozhikode beach! Yes, that’s where I want to go.
Next day morning I and my brother visited the beach, just before the sunrise and here I share the beauty what I saw in Kozhikode beach.

Why sunrise and not during sunset?
If you are wondering why did I go during sunrise and why not sunset? Isn’t it beautiful to see the clear sunset from the beach? Well, yes you are right. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset from the beach. However, if you have visited Kozhikode beach during sunset, you might have seen the amount of crowd there to enjoy the beach sunset.
I personally, like quiet, calm and not so crowded places which is why I chose sunrise where it will be way less crowded. If you are a person like me who don’t like much-crowded places, I suggest you visit here once during sunrise and you can thank me later!

Explore more than the pedestrian walkway
Kozhikode beach has a well-maintained pedestrian walkway and some seats where you can sit and enjoy the calm beach. But, why don’t you explore a bit more and walk around? If you walk for some distance towards the north side past the dock ruins, you can find a rock-paved way on which you can walk a little bit into the sea.
This is one of my favorite spot here, as you can see many fishing boats docked here and there is a good viewpoint where you will be able to enjoy the view without any other distraction.

Conclusion
Kozhikode Beach is one of the biggest attraction in Kozhikode and offers magnificent sunrise and sunset views. However, be ready to deal with the crowd on the beach during sunsets. The beach is well maintained and there is a pedestrian walkway alongside the beach if you want to take a good walk along the beach. But make sure you get out of the usual walkway to find more interesting points nearby.
Bonus tip
In case if you want to get some time off from staring into the sea, there is a Lions’ Park and the marine water aquarium located close to the beach. There are also many small shops near the beach to try some great street food. So check them out if you a fan of street food (as I am).
